Glazed Ceramic Floor Tiles

What is the difference between glazed and unglazed ceramic floor tiles?

Unglazed Tiles

Unglazed tiles have no glazing on the surface. The color of the bisque goes all the way through the tile from top to bottom. Quarry tiles (like the Cinca Extruded Red Blend) are unglazed and used in both commercial and residential areas. Depending on the type of unglazed tile you may need a special sealer.

Glazed Ceramic Tiles

Coating a tile with glaze adds both color and a hard protective surface to the tile. A glaze can also give the tile a satin, textured or glossy finish and they're easy to maintain.

Glazing allows the ceramic tile to be offered in unlimited colors and designs.
Glazed ceramic tile is generally used in areas, such as bathrooms, kitchens, walls, floors. Some of the features of glazed ceramic tile are:
                   Stain Resistant
                   Fire Resistant
                   Fade resistance to direct sunlight
                   Easy to Clean
